Research

In 2008, École Parsons à Paris launched Collection, a research center dedicated to the dissemination and promotion of research in the fields of art and design. Under the direction of Dr. Brigitte Borja de Mozota, Collection operates a Design Observatory to evaluate the state of design research, a project which recently included collaborating with the French Ministry of Industry on a study on the economy of design in the creative industries.

Collection organizes, hosts, and participates in numerous events and conferences:

• Co-hosted with Université Paris I – Panthéon – Sorbonne: the 6th edition of Les Ateliers de la Recherche en Design
• Hosted Foundation Education conference and an investigation on the subject of creative cities coinciding with the World Design Capital award
• Chaired and organized with the Design Research Society: the 1st symposium for Design Education researchers – hosted at the Bourse du Commerce during the annual Cumulus Conference
